Editorial Note.  Kamasi Washington and his superb band are playing a concert in the Great Hall of the Cardiff University Student Union later in the year on October 17. I will be there. Curiously it’s 50 years since I did my BSc finals in this building when it first opened in 1974. I think I should make the trek to Wales for glorious nostalgia. I was the official Rag photographer back then (unfortunately I can’t find old negatives of Ralph McTell, Humble Pie, Steeleye Span et al) so I wonder if the uni will give me a photo pass if I show them my old SU card?
